In El Paso County, 152 residents died by suicide in 2018, and men accounted for 74 percent of those deaths. Men are also less likely to seek professional help for a mental health problem than women.
This is where we came in to help El Paso County Public Health with a year-long marketing campaign with Man Therapy. Our target audience was men ages 25 to 54 with a focus on military and co-responders. Together, we created social content, monthly calendars, planned events and sent out statewide press releases to raise awareness about mental health for men. We also curated and drafted weekly posts for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and the Sheriff's Department's social media accounts.

materials distributed
We distributed materials where men would find them: Posters tacked up in the men’s bathrooms of bars, coasters and stickers that arrived with their drinks.

We also teamed up with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, pairing with local officers for events, like the tailgating party at the Air Force Academy in order to first draw in men with witty humor, and then sharing mental health resources with them. We had a ton of positive feedback, laughs, and more visitors to the website.
website
Man Therapy is focused online, with the website being the main objective. Users who enter the site can take the 20-point head inspection to answer specific questions regarding their mental health and issues they may be dealing with. In return, they will receive answers on what to do next such as tips, activities and resources. It's all anonymous, too.
